The piano-in-a-van, 50-state GATHER HEAR TOUR is coming to Maine! Pianist Miki Sawada brings an evocative classical music program that reflects on the nature that surrounds us in Maine, as well as music that contemplates America’s complicated past and present.

Through Gather Hear, Miki delivers free world-class concerts to neighborhood community gathering spaces for Americans everywhere, with a special focus on rural America. Gather Hear’s mission is to foster human connection and dialogue across socioeconomic and political boundaries while capturing an honest, intimate, and ultimately hopeful portrait of America. Maine is Gather Hear’s seventh state after Alaska, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Utah, Louisiana, and Alabama.

The concert program, titled “Maine the Beautiful,” features evocative music inspired by the woods and the ocean, as well as music that offers commentary on America’s past and present.
